Spyglass is the Captain in your browser. It reads the page you are on, whether that is TradingView, a broker, a news site, or a stock screener, and gives you context-aware breakdowns: what the chart is showing, what the catalyst means, what the option chain implies, and how it lines up with your plan. You can ask follow-up questions in plain English without ever leaving the page.

The Algo Vault is a curated library of TradingView Pine Script strategies covering trend, mean reversion, breakout, options flow, and risk-managed swing systems. Each algo ships with an explainer, expected behavior in different market regimes, and a recommended risk profile so you understand what you are running before you turn it on.

Can I connect TradingView alerts to automate trades?

Yes. Every algo can fire TradingView webhook alerts into your CaptainTrade account, where the risk engine validates the signal against your position sizing rules and either paper trades it or, once you are ready and your broker is connected, prepares it for live execution.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. Algos are pre-built, the Captain speaks plain English, and the risk settings are sliders and toggles rather than scripts. If you do code, you can fork strategies and customize them, but it is never required.

What brokers does CaptainTrade support?

We are launching with Alpaca for paper and live US equities and options, with additional brokers on the roadmap. You can paper trade everything inside CaptainTrade without connecting a broker at all.

The current focus is US equities and options because that is where retail traders are most underserved by good risk tooling. Crypto and futures are on the roadmap but not the immediate priority.

How does the risk engine protect me?

Every signal, manual or automated, runs through a risk check before it can become an order. The engine enforces max position size, daily loss limits, per-trade stop distance, exposure caps, and a kill switch that halts new entries if you breach your own rules. You set the limits once and the platform refuses to let you override them in the heat of a bad day.

Not unless you explicitly turn on live automation, connect a broker, and confirm the live trading consent. Out of the box everything is paper trading and signal review. Live automation is opt-in, reversible, and ring-fenced by the same risk engine.

Yes. Trading is risky and most retail traders lose money. CaptainTrade is built to slow that bleed down with structure, education, and hard risk limits, but no tool can guarantee profit. Only trade with money you can afford to lose.

Broker connections use your broker's official API keys with the narrowest permissions possible, stored encrypted. We never store your broker password, we never move funds between accounts, and you can revoke the connection at any time from your account page.
