This policy explains what data CaptainTrade.io collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It applies to the website, dashboard, mobile views, browser extension, and any related services.
1. Data we collect
- Account data: name, email, password hash, plan, role.
- Profile data you add: handle, avatar, bio, preferences.
- Trading activity: signals, paper trades, risk settings, broker configuration, webhook events.
- Usage analytics: pages viewed, device, browser, IP, referrer, UTM.
- Support: messages you send us and any attachments.
- Payments: handled by our payment processor. We store the subscription status and last 4 digits, never the full card.
2. Why we use it
- To operate the platform and your account.
- To route signals, run algos, and store your settings.
- To send transactional emails, notifications, and security alerts.
- To improve features and detect abuse.
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. Sharing
We do not sell your data. We share it only with vendors that help us run the service (hosting, email, analytics, payments) under data processing agreements, and with authorities when legally required.
4. Retention
We keep account and trading data for as long as your account is active. After deletion, backups and required records may persist for up to 90 days before being purged.
5. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your data, and to withdraw consent. Email privacy@captaintrade.io to make a request.
6. Security
We use industry standard controls including encryption in transit, row level database security, hashed passwords, and leaked password checks. No system is perfectly secure. Use a strong unique password and enable two factor authentication on your email.
7. Cookies
We use first-party cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and to remember preferences. We use basic analytics to understand how the platform is used. You can clear cookies from your browser.
8. Children
The service is not directed to anyone under 18.
9. Changes
We will post any updates here and update the "Last updated" date. If changes are material we will notify you in-app or by email.
